Interstate 86 and New York State Route 17 are important highways crossing the town east-west. New York State Route 79, a north-south highway, intersects NYS-17 at the Village of Windsor. Due to its proximity to these highways a significant number of traffic tickets are issued in the area.
Many commercial truck drivers that pass through Windsor are cited with an overweight vehicle ticket. These overweight tickets (VTL 385-8, 385-9, 385-10) are issued at weighing stations. The fines involved with these violations are excruciatingly high.

Info: Windsor is a town on the southern border of Broome County, New York. It is part of New York's Southern Tier region. As of May of 2022, the town population was 5,901. Windsor covers approximately ninety-three square miles and is located fifteen miles east of the City of Binghamton. It rests on the New York - Pennsylvania state line. The town consists of numerous hamlets and one village named after the town, Windsor. The hamlets are named Blatchley, Cascade Valley, Damascus, Dunbar, East Windsor, Edson, Flowers, Occanum, South Windsor, State Line and West Windsor.
